Yea I think it is the reflection. I didn't notice it on the water. I was into the sandies and then those two monsters. I also caught a few at deadmans in 20' and then the wind changed directions.

Reflection.....The one in the photo with red near his gills......blood. The rest is reflection. Both were released to be caught another day.

Good job, nice looking fish! I'm surprised that slabs were working! We have had no luck on them with slabs yet this year, shad or live only. I might try the old fly trick above the slab. Anyway, have fun out there

Thanks Ya'll! Buck you can tie anything above the slab now that they are starting to bite. I like crappie jigs and I also use soft bass plastics that I don't use anymore. Crawfish,tube or a worm. I have not found a way not to break off though after a few fish. Fun but more expensive when you start breaking off. Everyone has a way to do it but I think the jigs with two eyes are the answer.I will add them to my list.

I will try that two looped or eye out tom. Probably a little faster than tying a dropper loop. Good luck out there.
