Went fishing this morning, having a good time catching bluegill as fast as I could bait my hook when a black suv came up on me and an officer got out drew his weapon on me, he asked what I was doing, I said fishing and before I could say anything else he got back in his suv and took off. He seemed very nervous which made me nervous, I didnt see any reason for him to pull his gun out. I wont be doing any fishing soon. I believe he was state police the type of guy thats above the law, man its just not safe out there anymore.

That's crazy. Maybe he was looking for someone and realized that you weren't the person?

Did you file a report on this with the local law enforcement agency where you were at?

Don't you know that a lot of hardened criminals stop to fish for a few bream after they commit a crime???

If that would have been me and a Police Officer pulled his gun on me I would be filing a report and wanting to know "WHY"! Police Officers normally don't do this type of thing "Pulling their Guns out with no reason at all"! Again I would love to know if he filed a report on the incident.

Im sure he had his reasons.

I was once in a small red car stopped at an ATM getting money. Out of nowhere a cop pulled up and pulled me from my car! He was pretty rough and slammed me against the roof as he hand cuffed me. I had a young lady with me and she was freaking out and screaming. I too was wondering WTF was going on!! Within a few minutes 2 other cops arrived and they were going through all my stuff. After awhile they un-hand cuffed me, apologized and explained what was going on. It turns out a car that was the exact model and color of mine was just stolen and implicated in a robbery. They had no idea if I was the robber or not (at the time) and they were just doing their jobs trying to find the guy. At first I was pretty upset, but then realized they were just doing their job and trying to protect themselves as they were trying to catch the guy to protect others from any future action he may have taken. It was a weird and kinda scary situation, but I agree with you that I'm sure he had his reasons...

Glad to know it ended there. Sorry you had to go thru this. As BAF stated may want to look at filing complaint with PD.

yes file with your local dept..next time that happens..ask him for his ID.....most agencies and state do not drive around in all black out suv's...and an officer see's you are fishing will not and should not unholster his weapon to speak with you..

They do/and will enforce the laws of the State and some Federal ...but,they ARE NOT above the laws in any form..they enforce the laws and MUST obey them as well and..as ANY Police in the State Of Texas must obey and enforce the same.The laws in Houston area are the same ones in this area...I promise..!po--po can not do what he did..

I have active military and law enforcement in my immediate family and greatly respect and appreciate those who spend their lives watching out for us.
