I agree. you have that unit dialed in very good!! if you look on the left side, you will see a slight representation of the boat also, thats because you kind of split it right almost down the middle, so that why thats there.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Thanks guys...still having a hard time understanding what I am seeing while on the water and trying to figure out where it is in relationship to my boat.
It is much easier to read when I can get it uploaded to my computer.

I have 998. I can't figure out why creeks and roadbeds will not show up. I have lakemaster and navronics. Neither one will show up?

Noise issues with 597ci HD DI. I have a 597 on my kayak. It is the only piece of electronics on the kayak. I shoot through the hull using a small well inside the hull. I seem to get vertical noise on my display any time there is a boat within several hundred yards or so of me. Here is an example: If I am all alone the noise is not there. Any suggestions on how I might make my situation better? For anyone who is interested, the picture is from the Willamette river in Oregon. The fish at the bottom of the picture are sturgeon. I am not positive what the suspended fish are.

Might be air under the transducer if you have it epoxied and doing the shoot through hull.

Turn up the Noise Filter in the Sonar Master Menu will help reduce cross talk.

Is there somewhere I can look for common settings? I just got a 998HD SI for my boat and want to get it dialed in properly.

Thanks guys. I will play with the noise filter. It is presently set to the default value. I did not know that feature existed.
Hey SaltyDawg88, that is a good point but I know I don't have air under the transducer because of the way it is mounted. The transducer is in the hull of my kayak and sits in a small well of water. There is nothing but water between the xducer and the hull.
