My wife booked us a few days up at Lake Conroe for my 40th birthday weekend. Sunday morning Im fishing half day with Billy Mills. Gonna walk the banks for sunnies Fri and Sat. Really excited!

Caught a few nice bassgills and a bunch of these





All fish released. Caught on grubs, spider jigs and gulp alive minnows fished on 1/64 oz jigheads 18" under floats.

That second blugill is the first fish ever for my wife! She ended a 2 hour session with 6 bluegill, 2 catgills and a bassgill. I had a few bass and 8 or so gills. Awesome start to the weekend.

The wind did a 180 rendering yesterdays spot unfishable. Took me a while to find them this morning. But I did! Released maybe 15-20 in 90minutes. All fish were caught on a lunker life brim buster in olive/brown.

45 minutes in the afternoon wind. 8 bluegill and one bassgill all on the same brim buster.

I am headed to Conroe this afternoon. Plan to try flooded timber. Will revert if we have any luck.

I caught a shellcracker first cast, but never found another one. Caught a hand full of half pound bream, but could not find them in bunches. I was fishing in 3-4 feet of water w/ crickets. Anyone else having any luck?
