So I just added a post under the "Losing first big fish". I am still sick feeling after losing this monster last night. See that post for details. She either just broke my braid around dock, tree, or my knot slipped out.
I use the only knot I know. I think they call it a clinch knot. Well I tested my knot at the boat after I lost another smaller one that didn't get hung on anything. I tested by putting a lot of tension and watched my knot slip out. I felt sicker after I saw that. Sometimes it would sometimes it wouldn't.
Just found one on Internet called "Braid knot". Is that my best bet?

Same thing happened to me. Either I was too cold to tie the "new" knot right or it just slipped. Had it happen twice last month when fishing a drop shot on Beaver Lake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNuKHycbnG4I went back to the old blood knot...tried and true. Pain in the arse to tie braid to flouro, but it sure holds.

Double clinch. Just double the line before you tie your clicnh knot. In other words, you will have two lines going through the hook eye rather than one. You'll have a loop coming out the bottom of the knot and one tag end out the top. Trip loop and tag end. This knot will NEVER slip.

I use a double palomar for any moving baits like frogs and a double snell for flipping/dropping. The line, hook, or bait will break before the knot slips with either of those if tied correctly. You tube has a ton of videos, look at Tharp or Bub Tosh, they both have good videos explaining how to tie up with braid.

I just tie my braid straight to the hook. Not sure if I should be doing that or using some flouro leader??
I like simple, but if have to tie different types of line together to land that hog next time I will do it!

You see lots of the word "double" in here, lol. That's key with having the knot not slip with braid.

I use a palomar to tie braid to flouro leader as well (it takes some time)... but its a risky proposition with any knot because of the characteristics of each line type. If the water is clear and not alot of cover you're probably better off with straight flouro.

My bad, I thought we were talking about joining lines.
I used welded hook eyes to prevent the braid from jumping when flipping. BMF hooks...I stocked up years ago.

Double uni knot hands down!
15. Signature images may not be larger than 600 pixels wide by 125 pixels tall. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than one row of images are allowed. If you want four or five logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in one row. psalms 91:1-16

Regular palomar has never failed me with braid. If you're nervous use a double palomar

If your Texas right then snell is the way to go. A ton of pros have vids on how to do it. By far the strongest. If tiring onto a jig or whatever bait I have tried palomar and moved to trileen. Tie a knot in the tag end if u are worried about slippage but I have never broke one off with this knot. I use double uni for floro but havnt tried it for braid, I think it would be hard to get it to lay straight but idk. I love double uni for my flouro flipp'n
