I've never caught a double digit and am certain beyond a shadow of a doubt I lost one today. Possibly a teenager rediculous donkey manchild. I teared up when she was gone. Will time heal this wound? I'm physically sick.

had one last year on fork get away that i felt was sal quality. still think about her to this day. the spot where i lost her is very close to the ramp where i typically launch at and she was on a very unique piece of cover. even when i know big ones will most likely not be there i have to go throw at that cover before i leave every chance i get.

the first time i ever fish Raybob back in the early 2000s i lost the biggest fish i have ever seen, at least 11-12 lbs. didnt have my drag set right, it was in the early years of my bass fishing days and i didnt know any better at the time. it is part of the reason i have become so consumed by bass fishing, and it is definately the reason i still keep going to Raybob.

It makes it even worse when your fishing a big tournament, and you know that fish was the kicker lol

We have knocked on the door so many times with a 9. Multiple 9.11, 9.12, 9,13's. We have lost more than one Double D I'm sure of it.

But the one that haunts me the most occurred this past September in State Park Cove at Falcon. We are working a ridge that was a sure thing and while we had only located a few other spots really producing that particular trip we got confined to it due to the wind. We worked it for 3 days straight...

Finally on the last day my long time buddy Team Skeeterless and I are catching a good fish every now and then, but nothing to write home about. We are throwing some 3/4 ounce Jo Baby Football Jigs and then he hooks up with a mule. Fight is on and he whoops this fish does nothing wrong at all. I reach down from the nose of the boat and grab this sure fire 12 pound plus fish with my left hand! I reach up as if to hand it up to him and yell Double D you did it. Only to drop it as it shook and bounced off the boat back in the lake and the jig fell out. The fish sat stunned for a second next to the boat as I crumpled and buried my face in the carpet. He reaches down to grab her and she wakes up and darts back down.

This one eats at me the most. It was the "one" that got away story for sure. We didn't talk for an hour after that. But time has healed all wounds even if it wasn't his fault and it was mine. We lived to fish another day and learned from our experience. Nothing can ever make it go away but my case it really sucked. Nothing like being the one that lost your buddy's sure fire PB. Go get em Barrett.
