just bought a Abu Garcia Revo SX. So far I like it but when I get birdsnest I cant pull it all ou and it keeps building up as I pull. So I have too pull out the entire spool. Please for the sake of the new rod and reel help me find a solution.

have you checked your brake settings? Spool tensioner? What diameter line are you using vs weight of lure...and weight of lure vs rod rating? Lots can attribute to it, even when all items are matched well...could even be how you are loading your rod during cast.

Hey Chad I live in NB and know your shop! I threw a Bama rig and light top waters but both had the same results. Im no expert but I think I set it up right. Im throwing 12 pound P-line but with probably switch to braid. Its my first 7.1:1 ratio reel I may just need to get used to it.

I wouldn't put braid on there until you learn how to set up the reel. It's more expensive than mono when you can't get the birdsnest out and have to cut it out.

Hunter...the company on my logo is actually my wifes, but its good to know you've seen it! lol.....If you'd like to meet up under 35 sometime at the ramp feel free to bring it and let me take a look see. More than likely you're just not used to it. Maybe by me looking at it I might be able to tweak the settings, or who knows, maybe the reel isnt right. Whatever I can do to help.

Aslo +1 to what Crappybassfishindude says...braid aint cheap!

Gear ratio has zero to do with the way the reel casts..I'm sure its more of an "adjustment" issue..
