I'm away at college in Colorado right now and my semester ends in 2 weeks. I got a fishing kayak last summer but didn't get to use it much. I live right by lake grapevine and was wondering if anyone has any spots or tips on how to catch grapevine crappie. I've never fished crappie before but I just want to catch a few and maybe cook some fish tacos for my family when I get back. Thank you.

I seen two guys in a tracker this morning wackin the crappie in the back of Twin coves in 1-3 foot of water. I bet they caught 50 in less than two hours.

Thank you Bruce. In a few weeks when the water heats up a tad do the crappie still stick in shallow waters?

No they will be under the docks no on the brush piles.

The docks are doing okay right now, and should be getting better as crappie finish up spawning. I caught about 15 keepers today on the docks. I have a little bit better access walking the docks, but you can hit some good spots in a yak. PM me when you get back in town, and I'll let you know how I've been doing.
