Pretty much a carbon copy of last week. Squarebills were the ticket. My first cast was a nice 2 1/2-3 lber.
We lost count after a while. 20 or so fish I guess. I managed to snag a large shad that was the exact color of the squarebill I was using. We were casting shallow, bumping the bottom and over the drop off to 12 ft. Seemed like they were hitting it right as we were coming off the shallow and over the drop off. The fish we caught today were in excellent condition.

Fished today for only a few hours. Weather was just perfect today. Got on the water around 11 launching from Schumanns. Drove around the lake since it's been three years since I have seen it. Looks like the same old Dunlap.

Chucked cranks for a little while and got the big nada. Ran up river and found some bait fish schooling close to the bank. Just had to try a spinner bait and that was the ticket. Fish would literally crush a lure. Ended up breaking my very last Hank Parker classic spinner bait.

TFTR's! We'll be out there early tomorrow. Sounds like a chunk and wind kinda day. No complaints here...

Here is the color �nd lure I've been using.

I use the Strike King KVD 2.5 Gizzard Shad and Sexy Shad patterns.
These are silent. I'm going to try the Academy brand next time that has the rattles and see if it makes a difference.

Fished from sunup to 3ish today. Sloooooooow for me. Boated 10 or so for the day, but nothing good. Best fish was the first one of the day. I should've quit then...but it was still a fun time.

@ fishnbuds, I left around 1100 with only catching the same three I told you about on the water. Saw two water skiers so I loaded up and came home and prepared my fish stuff for the summer patterns. My first fish was on a frog and it inhaled it. Last two on spinnerbait with one around 5 pounds all before 8am. Tried a lot of different stuff this morning and for some reason they will not eat a white spinnerbait. They will turn on it but not eat it. Would like to got tomorrow afternoon weather permitting.

Fishnbuds were you in a camo center consol if so we were the two guys with the little one in the ranger. We caught two bass from 3-9 skiers were everywhere. Caught one on spinnerbait and one one a rattle trap. It was a great day on the water. Just got inside and saw a note from my wife saying she wants to go in the morning.

Tincan, I hope you got that motor is dialed in... I fished canyon from 3-8 and flat out killed them..! You should try canyon. Text me if you do and I'll tell you spots and baits.

Gonna see what the heavy rain did last night to the fish at Dunlap. Gonna hit it early this am and come off the water before the lake lice gets going.

My friend and I went out yesterday morning on our kayaks just fished from schumans to the dam and we didn't do very good. I thought it was going to be a good day because when I started fishing I missed a couple right away and had one rap me up in a branch and lost a 3 or 4 pounder right at my kayak I was about to land it when it jumped and I saw the lure fly out. After that I only manged one tiny bass we would of fished longer but this one wakeboarding boat kept wakeboarding right next to us and it was making it almost impossible to fish and we were already planning on going to the river after.

Only hooked up with three fish today. The water was perfect and so was the weather this morning.

I hit the water right around 7 am. By 8 am there were a lot of fishing boats on the water. At 11: 30am all the skiers woke up and came on the lake. Had to depart. The lake gets too nutty with so many boats.
