What are you asking?
Engine hours are the running time on the motor. More important info would be the breakdown or hours running at different rpms, if cared for higher hours are okay. Still need a compression and leak down test on anything your looking to buy regardless of hours.

Any time the ignition switch is turned on, the hour meter is running.
