What lake would you recommend to take the family for fishing and relaxing? Any beaches to let the kids and wife hang out at while I can sneak off to fish. Thanks for the help.

Depending on where you live, if in the 'metroplex', would recommend Eagle Mountain Lake. Check out the marinas on line...several are not yet open with full services for the summer but soon will be. West Bay, Harbor One, etc. r/ Fred

Lake Amistad is a good one, rent a house boat and stay on the lake for a few days

Check out Lake Benbrook also. Pretty park and launch site. Bait, fishing, and restaurant if it's open now...

We raised our kid on Lake Brady. Nice playground, fishing house, nice shower house, store across the road, and we liked camping in the cabanas. They are enclosed on 3 sides and screened in. There is a BBQ at each site.

+1 to Richland Chambers. Ray Roberts has been getting more & more crowded every year. Probably like that everywhere.
Sometimes it's good to know where to avoid....Lake Lewisville. Too many crazies that are either drunk, disorderly, stupid, and don't know what "No Wake Zone" means. Jet ski's everywhere with no regard for fishermen, safety or common sense. The few parks are crowded with public bathing, loud music & broken glass. Wow, I feel better.
It seems the farther from the Mexoplex, the better.

Inks, fishing might not be the best but great state park and a couple of "crowded" fishing piers. Rented a canoe with the wife, two kids and two dogs. Paddled across the lake and to devils backbone and felt very safe.
