If I were to bet, power is the issue. Many threads on the BBC forums about especially the touch needing more power. Some are running a power wire directly to the battery. But also make sure your battery is up to snuff. Seems to almost always fix the problem. +1 Lowrance is sensitive to batteries that are even remotely near the end of their life. Mine was cutting off when I started the big motor when I got back in the boat this spring after being off for a couple months in the winter. One good long charge to the starting battery and it hasn't done it since.

I make up a 10' or 20' cable to wire your electronics straight to your battery. It is Ancor Safety Duplex Cable - 14/2 with the two batter loops ready to connect to your battery and has a 3amp inline fuse/holder. Safety Duplex Cable ANCOR Duplex Cable is made to surpass the highest UL Boat Cable standards with ultra flexible (Type 3/Class K) stranding to resist fatigue due to vibration and flexing. Outer jacket is made for easy removal and provides the best abrasion resistance available ANCORs proprietary premium vinyl insulation stays flexible even in extreme cold and resists salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline and ultra-violet radiation. Exclusive insulation is rated at 600 volts, 105C dry and 75C wet, and is resistant to heat and abrasion. Inner conductors are correctly color-coded to ABYC standards Features red and yellow Marine Grade primary conductors in white common jacket 10'.....$19.95 20'.....$29.95 David @ shut-up-and-fish Your TFF One Stop Shop

Yep I rewired my entire boat to avoid having any problems. I had my 10 cutting off because of the factory wiring, then I bought a 12 and spent about $150 rewiring that sucker properly.

Sure it is either the battery, wiring problem or user error on this one. I would replace/check battery and take the advise on the wiring approach.
