So is there anywhere that I might get away with a bivvy for a few days on fork? I figure the tournament probably opened up some opportunities where people might just look the other way for a carp angler. Any info ?

There are a few spots you can go. You can camp in between the bridge and the arrow. Any farther north of the arrow and it's private property. 515 east swim - http://goo.gl/maps/jhjOL You can camp on this whole bankspace from the bridge all the way around the bend into the snags "burning couch" swim - http://goo.gl/maps/fwnFe You can camp from the side road with the arrow on it all the way around the point to the end of the property. Rainswood marina swim - http://goo.gl/maps/RpLZZ You can camp on this point but they charge per day and there is a forest of underwater snags in some parts. oak ridge marina swim - http://goo.gl/maps/w4fOoYou can also camp at the lake fork marina on the west side of the lake but I have been told that the area is not very good.

While the tournament did open up some new "swims" the largest three are still on mostly private property.
And while these folks promise us that they can be used again next year they are not available until then.
It has mostly to do with the fact that are used for grazing cattle. And the ranchers would then have to move their cattle again for strangers on their property.
We want to show them the best courtesy we can so that they will honor those promises for 2014 by not trespassing or bothering them.

i ended up fishing local for the day and doing chores the rest of the weekend.
Agreed LFSA, though I do know where carpers go, we're normally welcomed back due to our respect for the property. Part of that is not fishing private property without permission. Public land... well that's another story. Heck some of us have an open invitation to camp in oklahoma and sleep in the RV on the waterfront property, use the spot lights at night and fire up the 10ft high smoker if we want to have a party.. man that was just weird but I'll go back for sure. If you know any locals that would welcome a single person fishing their property for a few days let me know.. its not like I can eat the whole cow...
