What power rod do you guys use for jigs and Texas rigs? I've been using the mossyback Loomis rods for my Texas rigs and Carolina rigs and a Dobyns champion 733 for jigs. Just curious to see what everyone else prefers.

It was recommended to me by a Dobyns pro staffer that I go with the 704 for jig/t-rig fishing as the 703 had a softer tip and was more a finesse rod. That is, in the Savvy and Champion lines. He recommended the 705 in the Extreme series. I went with the Champion 704 (should arrive today).

has more to do with actual weight of jig or weight--not the technique. I fish a finesse jig a lot. I fish it on a medium rod. I wouldn't even attempt to cast a football head jig on the same rod.

745 and 705 same power

I fish a 703,734,735,745

for both application just depends on the size of the bait and also the cover.

703 is mostly for shaky heads and senkos

x2 but I do throw a majority of my jigs and t-rigs on an 853 Loomis. It's a great all around rod for me.

The best flipping jig on the market!
