I am fairly new to the freshwater fishing game. I am going to school at Texas State and am attempting to fish the San Marcos River which has nice size bass but has three characteristics that make it difficult to fish. First the water is crystal clear which has made line choice difficult until I switched to braid with a flourocarbon leader. Secondly the heavy current limits the time to pull/play with the bait where the fish are. Finally it has heavy growth virtually covering all of the river. The only consist success I have had is on topwater at sunrise and sunset. Any tips or tricks for a greenhorn just trying to figure it all out? Thanks!
