Going to fish Texoma for awhile and don't know the first thing about it. Not even where to launch.
Will be putting in somewhere near the Dam I think be coming thru Sherman up 75. Any tips of places or maybe even a hole that might produce. I am not asking for your personal fishing spots just something to point me in right direction. Be heading that way in couple weeks. What depth do you fella's think they should be holding up in? I don't own a depth finder other than a rope with knots and i only have 30ft of that lol.

No help as to where, but i'd be a lot more shallow than the max depth on that rope. Been catching the channels in less than 10 for the past two weeks. With the water warming up, they'll be in even skinnier water.

I'd also sour some milo for insurance before heading north. Seems that chum is almost as important as bait.

If you launch from Dam Site Park, just pull your boat up near the rip rap of the dam. You have 2 miles of rocks to work with.I have always caught blues off the dam but I was using big baits. The only other area I have seen with a good number of channels would be at the mouth of the red and that is a LONG ways away from the dam.

The channel cats should be moving up into the rip rap along the dam pretty soon. Punch bait under a cork set about 2 feet deep should do the trick. If not there, then try any wind-blown point up against shallow rocks or brush.

Thanks fella's I will try that. I know i can find the dam lol. Same way i fish Tawak. Didn't know if they would be up an the rip rap yet. I am fishing Squaw Creek now but they just started the reactors back up and the water will be going up in temp quick. Hard to fish a 100deg. day when water temp is 107.
Another Texoma question what about the Yellow Cats? is there some good areas near the dam ramp area. I have not a clue as to when is the best time to go after Yellows on R&R. Thanks for all the help it is appreciated much.
Buddy it was excellent info. Again thanks to all.

It's hard to keep the blues off your line long enough to have a flathead bite. I would personally go and fish for them in the mouth of the red river. Juniper point off of 377 also looks like a promising area. All the flatheads I have ever caught out of Texoma have been on shad heads. The couple times I tried live baits, I ended up whacking the blues.... bang
