didnt know where to post this but here goes. Does anyone have a solution for the play on the ball mount at the receiver? i just pulled mt boat 190tx for the first time on my new wheels. it seems to have alot more play (side to side) than my other receiver i had on my old truck. the receiver has a 3" x 3" tube, the only lock i could find for the mount was a 3.5" length. could that be the issue? your thoughts... thank you

You could wrap some electrical tape or duct tape around it.

Your receiver tube is 3" X 3"? What does the draw bar measure?

What truck do you have?

Some of the new heavy duty trucks need an adapter to use a standard 2"x2" square receiver. If you have any of the new diesels this is probably the case.

2013 tundra - the ball mount is 2 x 2 - the receiver tube inside is of course 2 x 2- not a tight fit, the norm - the outside dimension of the receiver tube on the outside is 3" x 3" - i lack about a 1/4 of an inch from using the standard lenght locking pin (5/8 diam). i have been looking at the j pins but cant seem to find a measurement for max tube size. they have some at northen tool from master lock- i need to go see them again.

The standard 5/8" pin should go all the way through. You're not trying to use a 1/2" pin are you? b

That's what I started to wonder (1/2"). At first I thought he just meant it was rattling too much but after reading it 10 times I wonder if the hitch is sliding forwards & backwards?
I just bought a new truck and it requires an extra long pin due to it being a class v receiver, tractor supply should carry the pin you need if that's indeed the problem.

not a 1/2, its a 5/8 - the standard anti rattle kits are for 2 x 2 tubes- it wont reach all the way thru. it is from side to side- the tundras hitch is beefed up- it has 1/4" walls. getting closer to locating one, will call Curt hitches in the am.

Just let it ride around a while, it will start to rust and rattle will quit.

This still is not clear to me. If Nissan came out with an odd sized hitch they should have provided the proper insert and locking pin. I measured the hitch on my 3500 Ram and the hitch at the opening is 3"X3" but further toward the front it is not that hick. I have a pin with a hole in it for a regular lock and the pin is at least 4" from the bend to the lock hole. Hope you get it worked out. b

OK look here something don't add or in this case subtract right here. You say the receiver is 3 inches on the outside and is 1/4 inch thick. OK 1/4" plus 1/4" equals 1/2 inch. See where I am heading? 3 inches minus 1/2 inch equals 2 1/2 inches. So if you hitch is 2 inch square, then it is the wrong hitch.
