CV (Slabmesilly)+his replacement and me hit the spawners yesterday,those prego's are inch for inch pound for pound superlative to My Ray Roberts girls.

Got home about 11:30,too late and too tired to clean fish last night.
This is the first time I've iced them down in the livewell overnight,not sure if that's a Good thing to do?
I have no idea of how many we bagged,but only had one throwback.
All on jigs,9-14 FOW,on tree's and was another day of one or two fish per tree,then quickly move on to the next tree.
Jig of choice was Slabmesilly Goto too and Cry Baby
Presentation for me was all the way down to the bottom,then reel up a foot, slowly raise the jig a couple of feet.A few would hit it on the fall,but for me it was deep.

I was down there three weeks ago and fishing from a float tube. Those Tawakoni crappie must be on steroids. It doesn't get any better than to feel the thump and set the hook and for an instant think you must be hung up because nothing moves in your direction. Nice going. That is one good looking fisherman holding that slab.

I just can't get over how thick these girls are.
These are young fish,look how small their mouth is,but big shoulders.

C.V.!!! I'm banning that kiddo of yours from fishin in anythang other than a mud-hole, or stock tank. Or any variation of thd two. Gonna put a call into Athens and let them know what's gonna come over the horizon in about ten years. He's deadly on them slabs brother! Good job guys!

Creek Tawakoni crappie at dusk running 2 pounds are common.

I told Mehn that this summer he has got to come back on my boat,then the crappie will be piled around the trees and easier to catch for a little guy.
He did make me flashback to when my little boy fished with me,good times right there my friends.

What a great thing to share w your son. I caught 17 Tawakoni slabs this morning in 1-2 fow. I was thinking this spawn may be winding down , but if yours were still full of eggs in the deeper water then I guess we have a ways to go. Got to get em while the gittins good!
