Well I was a boat Cpt yest for the HS Tournament on Fork. Not sure how many teams were there, but I think about 30 or so and it was tough. My team only had one angler, his partner backed out, but we had a good time. This was his second tournament and he caught his first bass. He asked alot of questions and I hope he learned as I tried to teach him and instruct him on a few things, Sure wish this was around when I was in high school.
One other thing, these guys talk smack with the best of them too.

Ive been a boat captn twice for hs tournments. I thought it might be a little tough to do since I wouldnt be able to fish but I got just as excited as the kids did when they caught a fish.I really enjoyed it. I agree they can talk a lot smack, not just to other teams but to each other also.

I am a teacher in Beaumont and started the first high school club here in the golden triangle. It has been great for everyone.
I want to thank everyone that has volunteered as a boat captain in any high school tournament. We could not do it without y'all.

My son is joining the HS fishing team next year. I'm excited for him and now a challenge for me. If he and partner don't win, it's my fault, cause I know he can catch 'em. Not so sure about the captain findin 'em....

Papamark it was nice meeting you yesterday. I know all the kids had a great time. The fishing was alittle slow. My grandson and I went today and only had one slot fish. I hope to see you at some of the other school tournaments.

We have a team at Corrigan-Camden HS. We won state last year and tied for second this year. It is a great opportunity for young men and women to experience fishing. Like said in a previous post, I extend my thanks to all, as well, who captian these young fishermen and women. It is difficult for the captian to go out and NOT fish all day, but the reward at the end of the day is worth it.

Definitely need and appreciate ALL boat captains - thank you, and thank you for sharing your positive experience! I hope SAF will someday work out some boater incentives with their boat sponsors to reward boat captains. * New Open High School Team in the Austin area if anyone is reading this thread and is interested... see Flyer or Facebook or Web site
