Well ive noticed my p- stream is losing pressure especially while at idle. I was out yesterday and found that it was not even spewing out at all for a little bit. At higher speed it has a slightly better stream. Is it as simple as a new water pump kit or are there other factors as well? Also will it have an alarm if its getting too hot?

It should have a high heat alarm, may need to check system. Losing pressure is a shure sign of needing a new water pump. If you hav`nt replaced the complete water pump do it now.

Go ahead and replace water pump. Not that expensive and not hard to do. I did mine on my 75 yami last year. Was intimidating at first but I watched some YouTube videos and did it in about an hour. Just order the kit and pay attention to details and you'll be fine.

Do i just need the water pump kit? ( impeller, pump cup, wear plate, and gaskets?) I found a kit that says without housing. Do i need a housing as well? Having trouble finding a kit and i wanna make sure its the right one. Its a 2005 2 stroke

It should definitely not stop or even slow down peeing. I have an 04 2 stroke that even when the pump started getting weak on it, the tell tale was still strong all the time. I am wondering about if you have something clogged up.

I would check into flushing your entire system as well as replacing the pump.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

You just need the impeller not the whole housing unless you have had overhaeting problems. And slingshot is right, very easy to do after wataching youtube videos and you save hundreds of dollars....
