I'm getting semi-serious about this subsurface fishing thing. Went down to Cabelas's and bought a Wind River reel, put the T-200 sink tip on it that's been sitting in a box for far too long.

Not yet. Once I get off this on call cycle I'll be testing it out.
Built a braided loop for it, it's good to go.

huh, i've been throwing t-200 on my 5weight for years with no problem. the 5weight TFO TICR easily throws the line 70+ feet.

on my 9 weight i'm throwing 400grain heads and have 500-700 grain stuff for my 10 and 12 weights.

The T-200 is a very versatile fly line.

I use a 5 weight for the T-130 but I never could get any rythmn/distance with the t-200 with anything less than an 8 weight. Course, I'm not a good caster-p-

I played with one of the Teeny lines a couple of years ago. It casted well, but the running line really seemed to have A LOT of memory. Have they improved on that recently, or did I play with a bad example?

never had that problem but if it was spooled on a smallish reel for an extended period I can see that. The teeny 130 is my favorite; I can't see leaving home without it; its so versatile, and necessary for medium depth fish-p-

Whenever I use a heavier line like that I put it on a slower action rod and it really loads up

Two hundred grains is just two grains shy of eight weight per AFTMA's designation.

Quote:
5 weight TFO TICR

A nine-foot TFO Professional "five weight" I had briefly was underrated by around two line weights, and I believe the TiCRs are even stiffer. A TiCR with "5" on the side might more honestly be considered a seven or eight weight.
