3/8 is tough to beat and you can vary trailer size/type to affect drop rates.

1/2 oz at the 10'-15' upper end of your "max range" for me but 3/8 for everything shallower. You asked for one: 1/2 oz and never look back.

I use mostly 1/2, just change trailers if I want it to fall a little slower

Depends. Is the wind blowing? How much cover is around?

Anywhere from 1/4-1/2 work well.

here is what i do especially in clear water lakes. i use only 1/4 or 3/8 oz NuJigs. when i need more weight, i simply add a slip sinker on the line ahead of the jig to make up the weight i need to get the fall i need. this allows you to fish with a smaller profile jig no matter how deep you need to be fishing. the slip sinker does not affect the hooking of the NuJig at all. right in the roof of the mouth everytime.

1/2 oz arkie head. You can do anything with that jig, one should always be on your deck.

Hi Mark,

I would agree with Mr Perry. 3/8 will be the best average size jig for that depth range. 3/8 will be just a bit light for 15 feet but could be a touch too heavy for 5 feet or less, but it will work well throughout the entire 15 foot depth range.

I have more information regarding jig fishing here: The Standard Bass Jig

I also like "finese" jigs in 3/16 - 1/4 ounce, but I fish shallow almost all the time. If I were fishing 15 ft. depth, I'd probably go to 3/8 oz.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
