Hi All,

Been a few years since we've been to Amistad. Planning trip for this weekend. NOAA is stating winds on saturday at 16-20 with gust 25-26mph.

I have a large pontoon with good size 4S, so I can power thru, but just would like to know it is going to be rough water, white caps type of dealing with.

Thanks for any info.

RudyDep - when you say "YUP" you mean rough water and or White Caps.

We are launching from Rough Canyon and going up the Devil.

Up the devils river portion it'll be better but that lake gets real rough real quick. If its blowing more than 10 the main lake is dangerous.. Also depends on which direction but i think you get the point, big lake doesn't take much to get rough.

The wind won't be real bad up the Devils, but if you haven't been in a while be prepared for the low lake level which is pretty evident the farther up the Devils you go. Also, be aware that there is only 1 lane at Rough Canyon launch ramp and it really is a long walk back to your vehicle. Good Luck and we left the fish still biting.

DHolding - we will be in a long crest pontoon tritoon - give a holler out if you see us.

As for everyone else - greatly appreciate the info - its been some years since we have been out - didn't know they only had one lane on rough canyon - which one is left open - left or right? I guess we'll find out.

Good fishing to everyone out there.

The southside ramp has the open lane or looking from the top of the ramp down it's the left lane.
