Hi all,

Anyone encountered this:

Just purchased new Navionics Chip Plat (South) for Lowrance HDS7 and tried to update chip with freshest data. Chip is unlocked etc. but program tells me chip is full. I figured it just overwrote the data? I mean how can it be full and yet they tell me I can get fresh data for a year? Very irritating...

I had the same problem last week. Card was new right out of the box and never used. Searched a lot of other forums online for answers and then finally called Navionics customer service. They looked up serial number and said they would replace and send via UPS. Apparently a known glitch? I should get it today. They provide an envelope and you send your old one back. Sounds like you might need to check with Navionics too.

Two weeks ago I attempted to update mine and had to contact navionics customer service. Update told me card full and to make a long story short my data was really messed up. Navionics replaced card.

Appreciate the info...I have been searching web and could not find a thing. I'm calling them now!

I just ordered the same card. How do you know when to update. Does Navionics list the updates on it's web site ? Have not got new card yet. Do you remember what the serial number of the bad card was?

Chip works great I just cant update. Updates are free for a year and you don't have to update

Wait till you get the card and then register/download software from their website. You'll know it a few seconds if you have a bad chip. I'm still waiting on their CSR to contact me

I had better luck calling and thet replaced mine within a few days. An email response came several days later and they were asking the same info i gave in the email.

I got a new one today and it also said it was full and would not update. I cant believe that they wont do anything to fix the issue BEFORE you buy one. Gezz

and how do you view your card on the PC? I cant figure it out...

] i agree. If Navionics has a known problem, they should at least contact you by your registration info and recall it or issue a bullitine. I bought the platinum edition for 200.00 bucks. I have to say so far the Lake Master chip I bought at the same time has been a much better value.

I bought a navionics card a while back and put it in my lowrance 520c and when I turhned on the lowrance it looked like it always did. What do you do to be able to see the navionics card?

I can't even get the web store to open so I can download. Not computer savy. What should I try?

If I remember correctly go to the menu page and find the mapping option and select the Navionics chip. It has been a while but I think that will help you.

If you put a new card in your computer's card reader when connected to the internet, the card will automatically connect to the Navionics web site and lead you through the process of downloading and installing the Navionics World software. That is where you register the card for updates.
