 Another Sand Bass limit on Ray Roberts

That Lake is Sandy bass Heaven. I had to give up crappie fishing after I caught these, as these little bugger wouldn't leave my jig and bobber alone. The 6 lb test on my crappie pole was not adequate for these guys. If you guys catch a big sandbass with a chartreuse and white jig in his mouth it's mine.

Nice catch!
I've fished most North Texas/DFW area lakes but haven't seriously fished RR in a long time. I am thinking of dropping in at Buck's Creek and going east for Sandies/Crappie. Does this area get a lot of pressure on weekends? On weekdays?

It's a zoo like all lakes on the weekend. Best to fish during the week if you can. It will get worse later when the sea doo's come out.
I think most fish have spawned and are west of the railroad bridge. They are moving into the early summer pattern of laying in deeper water and ravaging the shallows in the evening.

Sandies are more fun to catch than crappie, anyway. not near as good to eat, though.

Very true. My wife makes a face when I bring them home but scarfs up any crappie and bakes them in lemon butter and dill.
My current boat is impossible to control in the wind, so I am stuck trolling and strolling. I catch a few crappie but not many.
