I am currently building an 8-footer for throwing these big cranks. I should be done with it next week. I'll report back on how it performs.

I fish Powell rods almost 100% both graphite and glass composites,I have a 7'10 MH KVD Tour a great crank rod, I recently read he has designed a sturdier rod for the 10 xd baits (they are BIG baits) not sure if Quantum wants to sell more rods to be seen, I like glass for treble hook baits, and think the 10 xd will catch big uns!

When in doubt set the hook..Retie often

Strike king hit it on the head with these!! Huge fan of the 6xd after catching a 9.7 on fork on one two weeks ago!!! Threw the 10xd same trip (more of a test run than anything) and it seems like a great crank. Better color schemes than Normans DD22 and easier IMO to crank. Action is also better and a slightly different bill design seems to deflect better off cover. I was ripping it through heavy timber in 15ft and never got hung.
