Wow, Diel, thats major spot lock problem your units are having! Sorry to hear that! So the third one is locking correctlly or better? The major difference between the riptide and terrova is the built in transducer that may cause it?

Terry, I can record a good trails and upload to all the other iPilots and then we can do synchronized (boat) swimming? lol

I have the I pilot Link. The regular I pilot worked perfectly. The Humminbird engineers were down here working on another problem and I took them fishing the next day. They were the first ones to mention something about it, their words "you can't fish like this".

Third one is still having problems, about to change the module back to the regular I pilot. Was told by the project manager for the Link that they have seen more interference problems with the US2 Terrovas but that's no big deal. Lots of solutions for that.

The really good news is Minn Kota is awesome about their warranty. They have jumped on this like crazy.

Keith I had the problem of the I Pilot hitting my roller. It didnt do it at all the ramps it looked like the steap ones is were it would hit. Just make sure you have it bolted with washers under the deck. The rubber mounts do not last long.

Never ever had any problems with my Riptide I-pilot link. I have had it for over a year, and fish at least a couple of times a week. It spot locks fine. It has only lost lock a couple of times on very cloudy stormy days. Other than that it is GREAT. It has struck the bow roller unloading, but I moved the roller down, and just back the boat a foot further in the water when unloading and have not had any other problems.

I read your mention of Texhoma, last weekend it was an ocean per my phone call it kept us from going, per my last 2 yrs info the 1st & 2nd week of May it should be really great there. April 1st was my best of a lifetime trip and we saw some schooling that day in 70 deg water in a cove on the pm bite. I did tie on a topwater and got 3 hits the 1st cast and got a backlash and just wound it up and put the rod down, I did not want to take the time to untangle it, it was bad. In the past topwaters silver and black & blue and black & rainbow trout were the best about 5" long Pencil Poppers or Rebels. My all time best striper bait from yrs ago is a 900 series RedFin in crome and black, removing the center hook, thats what I caught my 27.3 lb on. We were catching smaller fish on sassy shads and larger on casted flukes.
Anything would have worked I think. A piece of white tshirt also works well on a jighead!
Terry and I are going back later this month for a few days and May 2nd for almost a week. We have been planning this for months. Any of yall that are going contact me and I will share any info I have with you.
It was an awesome thing casting to underwater structure and catching 10-12 lb fish almost every cast for 2-3 hrs, (ALL FISH RELEASED). The I Pilot was an unbelieveable asset in staying on them as well as the GPS coming home in the dark back to the dock. One time I thought I hit something on the bottom of the boat, then again hit something else, it was fish hitting us!! you could look in the water on the sides at times and almost net them! We cant wait for May-June.
A side note I discovered the fluke jighead with the spring was the best to use as it really kept the plastic bait on much better with the amount of fish we caught, we tried them side by side with the regular style and yes they were definitely better.
We fished Sat with Jeff Craft at Tawakoni, he was using 2 drift socks and doing a great job, when I finally got the IPilot set correctly it stayed right with him perfectly..

FYI: Wait until you get to Pottsboro to gas up, some of cheapest in Texas. Either the Exxon on 120 going into Pottsboro or the Shell in Pottsboro. Denison Walmart would be 2nd on 120 Exit #69 Morton St.

Does anyone know if tracks can be transferred from 1 motor to another?

For all of you that have problems hitting the front roller when you load your boat. Buy yourself a boat buddy and the problem is solved. BPS carries them and be sure to get the heavy duty one.

At first I thought maybe the motor was not enough for the boat, but was told they test the 101 motors on a 24' ranger bay boat. Just seems like either the signal is being lost or the motor is too slow to react, then has to catch up.

Had Issues with mine today, finally found fish at Cedar Creek, hit the spot lock button and the head rotated 540 before I caught it with the foot pedal. Called MinnKota and was told to dis-connect and re-connect the power from the unit, I did and it went back to normal operation.

It ain't easy making it look easy.
