What is the best way to do it? Nada, Kelly, Edmunds, look at similar vehicles and the list price? I am a little a skeptical of the latter because I often see vehicles that i think are priced to high. Normally at dealers and I know I am not going to get what a dealer would. I will be in no hurry to sell so I am thinking about starting a little above Nada individual retail. I have tried looking for individual sellers but at least 90% of what I see is at dealers.

I would look up Kelly and price it at that. Not many people will pay more than book for a used car.

KBB is usually higher than Edmunds and NADA. The banks and credit unions I've used for vehicles all used NADA.
Be honest evaluating the condition of the vehicle. Figure somewhere between the Edmunds and NADA value and go from there.

I need to take another look at KBB. Edmunds and Nada are very close. Would be happy to get book out of it. I am trying to hit the happy median. Not over but not under. I know that if I was looking to buy used that I would not even bother calling on some of the vehicles listed because of price.

The last couple of used vehicles I've sold I let the market dictate the price. I post them on Craigslist and post them high. If the phone doesn't ring within 24 hrs I drop the price a grand. I drop it every 24 hrs till I get a response. Once the phone starts ringing I'm there. One thing about c/list, if its priced right it will sell immediately.
And forget the idea that you won't get the same price a dealer would. For every person who thinks this way there is another who would pay more to buy from an individual.

Mannheim Market Report, see if your credit union will give you the price for the vehicle you are looking at. "Manheim Market Report (MMR) is the premier indicator of wholesale prices. Manheim's pricing calculations are based on over 10 million sales transactions for the previous 13 months with precise pricing unmatched by guide books. And, the pricing is refreshed each night. The large volume of data removes the need for statistical interpretation, allowing neutral pricing computations, without opinion or bias. "

When I buy a used vehicle I prefer to buy a one owner from an individual which fits mine. I have never had a problem selling even ones that I thought would take a while. Only concern I have with this one is because of price the buyer will most likely be financing. All others were cash sales.

I've sold quite a few used cars. Look up KBB and evaluate the condition honestly and price it at that. You shouldn't have to come off too much to get it sold if it's a vehicle that's in decent demand.
Depends on how fast you want to sell it and if it has any unique features (aftermarket mods, incredibly good shape for its age, etc.). Those will get you a little more. But overall, everyone looks at KBB and generally believes that's what the car is worth. So you're not going to get too much more or have to take too much less than what KBB says.

From what I have seen it will not be hard to sell. I will try KBB again. NADA & Edmunds seemed better when it came to pricing out options.

Yeah, Tacomas are always in demand. What engine, mileage and cab configuration is it?

I compare prices using Car Max. They are usually pretty close to true value.

Yeah, Tacomas are always in demand. What engine, mileage and cab configuration is it? it is a v6 AT, DCSB, TRD off road, 2wd. Pretty much the top of the line for 09s. Dealer gave me a good enough trade in that I am not going to mess with selling. $20k with tax benefit. Not bad for a 4 year old truck with 88k that I paid $24k for. I know I could make a little more selling it myself. I still could. New one will not be in for a couple of weeks.

I compare prices using Car Max. They are usually pretty close to true value. But is the car max price trade in value or what the car is really worth? If their buying it I'd assume they were going to try and turn around and sell it, correct?
