Yes, went with front hitch. Back is all screwed up and 'non-repairable', can't turn that much..so, the front hitch is working best for me. Wasn't that expensive...
Still mulling over moving the winch tower. Your opinion and others are 'leave it alone'. I sure don't want the weight so out of proportion that the trailer 'bounces' on the ball i.e., light in the front. But man, 300lbs tongue weight is a LOT.
Sure wasn't happy with Stratos answer.... bang
Looking at just changing the front support wheel to a double tire and one that will give me 2 or 3 inches more height.

next time you load it leave it back about 3 to 6 inches and go to the parking lot and mess with it. spray the bunks down with wd40 so you can winch it foward

Wish I had thought of that today, was out.
Will try this later this week (after the cold front blows through).

Lee, Full gas tank or tanks will make a big difference in tongue weight in some boat rigs.

Hi, I try to keep the tank full. I guess it makes some difference but, as I haven't let it get past 1/2 full, no difference noted yet. But, it was a good input....
thanks!

Lee, I have a 17.5 ft Ranger that is comprable to your boat in weight and length...my trailer is almost identical to yours.Tongue wt, is aprox 150-175 lbs.I would do three things,..Buy a side mount for your spare and move it back in front of the right fender.Move boat back 2-3 inches(you can buy extension brackets for tiedowns).Buy two wheel trlr. jack. All three would probably net you 50-60 lbs less tongue wt.
my 2 cts, good luck
