I have searched but I couldnt really find much info on this. I bought a starter kit for pouring soft plastics from lure craft. It is a decent set up for the price and it came with 2 bottles of liquid plastic... a super soft(formula 536) and a medium soft(formula 502). I poured about a dozen worms with each plastic tonight and I was not very pleased with the end results. The worms are WAY too soft and not very durable at all. The lures are WAY too limp and when you hold a 10" worm it stretches to over 20" with just on its own weight. Is this because I am doing something wrong or do I just need a different brand or need some plastic hardener. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time

Josh

For most bass fishing it's better to use at least medium plastics . I use M-F or Chemonics soft formulas are for crappie baits , I'd invest in some hardner . You can add some clear powder paint to the plastic and it will be tougher . Takes some of the shine out of the bait though .

I did not like M-F but many love it. I have used LureCraft for years without any problems. Did you shake the bottles real good to mix the stuff that settles to the bottom back into the liquid? If you have quart bottles it may not be noticeable but there will be some settling.

Thanks for the replies! I did shake it up but not very long. I may need to try that again.

Tacklemaker ... are you using the regular MF Plastic or the salt water? and where are you buying from?

This is one of the many places I have found

I get plastic from Bone Yard Baits now . Used to get it from Lure Craft or Bears depending on price and shipping . Shipping really sucks even on a 55 gallon drum .I use soft for crappie but I keep a little hardner around because not everybody likes soft baits .Like me I use the salt water formulas for my stuff . All of it .Having said that Zieners are good people and they will take care of you . All plastics have peculiar reactions Its a matter of finding one you can live with . Feel free to pm me any time with questions about most any tackle . Beer980 is absolutely right . Shake every dang thing until your arms give out . Invest in a thermometer (not infrared because it only gives surface temp .) but one with a long snout so you can stir with it while you take the temp .

I use the medium pourasol from ispikeit.com. Cheaper than most if not all and downright catches fish

Lurecraft plastisol is notorious for settling. You can tell if the hardener settled out because the baits will be sticky. I like the M-F because it doesn't settle out.

I have used Lure-Craft plastic for over 10yrs now and LOVE it, you will have to stir it good then shake it up, I do this evertime I use it.
I use the 532 plastic and there blended plastic also
