I use a product called MONSTER SCREEN CLEAN. It is a safe alchohol free formula Ideal for cleaning LED, LCD, AND PLASMA SCREENS. contains de ionized water and proprietary polymers. removes water spots very easily, and doesnt let fingerprint oil stick to screen easily, (why people must touch your screen is beyond me but they do,, ha) a small bottle goes a long way. a couple squirts on a lint free cloth, then wipe screen, dont spray on screen. Is it recommended for screens that have an anti-glare coating like sonar screens have?

vinegar is a strange liquid. A mild acid, we used to rub it on exposed metal ductwork so it would not sweat in commercial buildings. also many painters wipe down aluminum boats and other things before they paint them, to temporarily stop the oxidation processes. chefs use it to tendaerize meat, now humminbird uses it for fishfinders,,

yes, probably a very mild formula. as long as it does the job, and doesnt damage the screen thats what counts.

Hello all, please help if you can. My 998 is cutting off on me when I am on plane across the lake. It just started doing it my last 3 trips. I can troll around just fine but when I crank her up and hit big water it shuts off... i restart it....good for about 30 seconds and shuts off again. Do you think surge or a short. My buddy said low battery but the battery is charged before each trip. I run it on my cranking battery. The wiring looks ok and if it was a surge I think the fuse would blow.

I have two questions. I run a 798 HD SI at the console and a 788 HD DI on the bow. What do I need to link these two together so they can share way points? Second,What size SD card is recomended to use in these, mainly for the software upgrades but also to store screen pics on?Thanks for any advice.

2 to 6 gig SD cards seem to work best with the units. dont get the mmc high capacity sd card, just a regular SD card.

You would need an Ethernet adaptor (AS EC QDE) for each unit plus the cable. A 2 GB is plenty large for updates--even a 128MB is plenty large if you can find one that small. For screen shots, and recordings, a 4GB up to 32 GB is OK--an 8 GB holds a lot of data and would be a good compromise. You would want to do updates on a separate card than for other functions.
