Sat on lake Waco I had a boat come in front of about 30 feet and start fishing. They were in a tournament I was just out for the day. If they had ask before it would have not upset me but they did not. I think they saw me land a nice 4lb because they were motoring out of the creek. I know that most guys would not do that but there is a bigger crop of A**holes now days that fish tournaments.

Since you are at water level, go over and act like you are messing with the plug. When they ask what you are doing tell them that you are conducting a courtesy inspection.

I recently had a guy fishing the same area as me and he came over to me and asked if we were doing any good and we said just a few smaller fish, he offered what bait and the color he and his wife were throwing and the depth and technique that was successful for them. And this was totally unsolicited.

So there are still good people on the water.

I see more and more in the areas I fish, I try to be mindful of them being in a smaller boat. Its just another boat to me though traffic is traffic, I don't want to be around anyone if I can manage it.

I was fishing a small area last week and caught a couple of fish. Another fisherman noticed and did his best to edge into my spot.I just waved him to come on over closer. When he did I told him he could have the spot and I would go somewhere else.I even showed him what bait I was using. He looked at me sorta crazy and left.I was nice about too. Shocked me when he turned and left.

I share the lake with tons of power boats, when I have folks intrude into "my area" Il tell them to back off. So far 100% have and gave an appology. And I must admit Im guilty of crowding others when I see an ultra light zebco combo with a plastic red/white bobber in "my spot", not saying this was you by any means just saying some of us other yak fishermen are just as guilty.

Had the same thing last Thurs on Amistad, sight casting to bedding fish and this guys motors up at 30 yrds in front of me. i moved to the opposite side of the cove and started to catch fish regularly, when we met at the back of the cove we were 10-20 yrds apart. Being the bigger man gave them all the help they needed to catch fish that day, it was 630pm. But the winds will be up to 25 the next two day for their tournament and conditions will change (just to add to their confusion). told them good luck and moved. I'd expect that kind of behavior out of saltwater fisherman not bass anglers.

Ill take what you had and trade my experience at the Memorial tournament on Stillhouse this past weekend. Passed a guy on the inside bank he was fishing about 40-50 yards from me and proceeded to cuss me out and threaten to get into my boat.

Both the soldier I volunteered to take out and I had a good laugh. The man looked like he was gonna have a heart attack from all his screaming and cussing.

Best part of it all was he thought he heard me cuss him out which I didnt and that seemed to enrage him more...Then he screamed F-you at me and I said okay..and then he threatened to come board my boat..He never did get all that close though.

My nonboater had his hand behind his back on his gun in case the guy did attempt to get on. I told my non to calm down and the other guy to grow up.

Apparently I have learned that even if you have fished 3/4 of a mile of bank crossing paths with another boat is now cutting them off...even if they are 40-50 yards out off the bank.

People should know who they are screaming at before they start. The guy with me just came back from deployment he was in no mood or state of mind for this foolish fellas antics.

You might want to rethink that approach...

Fished 61 st pier friday afternoon with a friend. Guy looked at me kinda funny when I asked if he wanted the shrimp I had left, then he asked if there was something wrong with them. So I walked off and gave them to a young kid fishing with his dad. Not many left these days but there are still a few of us out there who treat others on the water right.
