Have 2 new 2013 Humminbirds (898c and 998c Hd SI) and considering a screen protector. water spots are driving me crazy! Will a screen protector like Nu Sheild or Zagg make the viewing worse. Anybody use them and which one is best?

If you want your screen to look like a mirror, yes a "protector" will keep water spots off the glass (it will be covered).

I tried the NuSield DayVue that was recommended on this site for about an hour. It defeats the anti-glare coating that the display has.

You can get water spots on the screen or the protector, you still have to clean it.

The unit on the left has the "screen protector" and the one on the right doesn't.

I have used both. I prefer the Zagg screen cover. There seemed to be more glare from the nushield. I went back to the Zagg and bought the screen cleaner kit. It works great

Just get you some Windex with Vinagar and keep it in the boat and spray when you get spots.

Lamoon is correct, don't waste your money on either as they are no worth it at all.
