 just bought my first boat now what graph do i buy?

so guys first thing i thing that i think that i am gonna buy in a nice electronics. something for the front as i dont have anything there now..
what are ya'lls suggestions and why? 100.00 to 750.00

i will need to buy lds or something xtra right to get all the features like the cool structure scan or am i wrong about this?

+1 with SI but if that's too rich for ya, go with HDS 5 with or without S/I.

bass ro has the HDS 7 2nd gen for a great price and a 100 buck rebate... but in order to really get the features dont i need to purchase other stuff for it to use the structure scan and stuff?? just what a buddy told me but he is a hummingbird guy... he said DONT buy a lorance bc you will only find out to really use it you gotta spend a ton more cash to make it do the stuff you expect it to do out of the box like the HB units do?
what say y'all? sorry never bought one of these things before and spending up to 700 to 800 bucks i wanna make the best decision?

Go to bass pro shops and play with the units and see which ones you like, I thought I was ghonna go with a bird till I realized my transducer was installed wrong on my 1st boat.

Birds and Lowrances are pretty much in the same price range on the SI/DI graphs but bird does have a few cheaper models. If I were you then like mentioned above I'd get the Lowrance HDI 7 elite with downscan, GPS mapping and regular sonar. They're around 700 ish.

I like the hds as well but for a cheaper second model the HDi is great but if u was spend the money then I agree HDS7 and up

Elite 7 , hard to beat for the money! +1, You can pick one up through some for the wholesalers on here in the $650-675 range. I got mine from Shut-up-and-fish. You'll have a little extra left to pick up a map chip. Great unit for the money
