I know if any chance of freezing inside or out leave down so no water in motor. I have heard those up north even have some type of plug to block rain if they are on the road and motor is up?

I generally leave mine down but if the transom support was still on wouldn't that take the pressure off the seals?

Down. Like all hydraulics, leave as little pressure on the lines as possible when not in use.

Before we put it on the transom saver, we have always trimmed it all the way down to drain out the water. Especially during the Winter months after we use it. It also helps to keep water from draining onto the garage floor once we park it.

As a habit, when I'm on the lake I always trim it down as soon as I get to a hole. That way, when we get ready to move, it's in the right position to get a good hole shot

Mine sleeps outside in the weather and it has always sat out there with the transom saver on it. I might put it down once or twice a year in south tx. if it is going to freeze. Never had a problem with seals on the pump. If it is going to be sitting for a while I put a little light grease on the t/t shafts.
