Yesterday was just one of those perfect days on the lake. The only thing missing was Keith! Keith I heard you got the boat back and I bet you probably have that I-Pilot installed and ready to go? Aaron had called me Friday about going out Saturday to catch some fish for his friends, Cory and Brandy, who drove in from Tyler to fish! Aaron's kids Meghan and Barry also fished. Lot of the gang was out fishing yesterday and we all hit the usual spots. It wasn't a day where you caught one every single cast but we caught fish all day. We did catch enough where Cory and Brandy took home two big bags of fillets to Tyler. Aaron cleaned them at my dock. We were throwing fish back at 5:00 yesterday. Was a strange place to catch fish as we ended the day.

You had to throw right where the shade and sun line met under the 30 bridge or near one of the bridge pilings. We caught fish every cast there and left them biting. It looked like Cory was on a fishing show! He was on fire and in the zone there. The thing I love most is all the calls and communications between us fishermen. It helps the cause when that happens. Good to see Terry, Ray, Ruben, Jeff, Mark, Carson, Pat, David to name a few. Kathy and I closed out the perfect day hanging out at the dock a little while. Then it was onto the balcony at home with some Chinese food to watch the Rangers win. I'm loving this U-Verse wireless service! All I can is God is good, especially to us fishermen! I will never take for granted the blessings we have in our friends and fish and it's all right in our back yard. I didn't take any pictures so you have to trust me- Mother fed us yesterday!

Frank,
It was great to see you and Aaron's crew out yesterday. I didn't realize that was you in the boat until Terry told me who was on board. I saw all the little ones on the boat and thought it was a large family out fishing. Great day to be on the water watching everyone catch fish. Have a great week and go Rangers!

Nice report, Frank! It was very windy at the house yesterday but glad that didnt stop all the catching cheers

Hey David, I just found out my son's music recital is on the same day as the white bass yourney, May 18th. I asked the music teacher to move it later in the day so I can be there to watch my son play. Not sure if I can fish the tourney since I may be busy helping JV with the tourney and setup, etc. But if I can, can I fish with you so I can head straight to the recital afterward?

Good seeing everybody yesterday. We got off the water about noon and went back out about 6.30. What a great day on the water.

Nice report Frank. Good seeing you and everyone else. I had to go in at noon to take the wife to the movie but she had come down with a cold and I ended up doing yard work instead. What a trade off. I hope we start seeing more days like Friday and Saturday....the good weather and great people makes for a great time on the water.

Jeff, we kept thinking it would turn on later in the afternoon and did it ever! I'm doing the yard work etc. today myself with all the wind. I figure the fish get a reprieve, or an off the hook day on these windy days! It was so nice being out there. Man I wanted to go so bad Friday. But it was worth the wait Saturday....

This is totally not fishing related. I'm a project manager by trade. So in my life I tend to "plan" things out. This is a well intentioned plan trust me! My lifter has a side that can be used for jet skis. Went through that phase with our kids years ago so that's not happening again. But three times over the years I came close to drowning because of that open side on the lifter. I slipped and and hit my head and almost went in. So after the last go round the plan went into action. I drew this out to scale and called a neighbor who reps all kinds of metal and plastics.

I ordered this high gage metal/plastic board with the grit top and they delivered it in one day. Let me just say it was really heavy and my neighbor Mark has a sore back to prove it... So Mark and Dwayne (Many know Dwayne) and I put the board on the other night. It could not have gone better to plan. Now I can put my tarp on, wax the boat and fish or whatever off the thing. Here's the finished product. I already have two people that have inquired about it. I may have to tell them some assembly required!

Did you notice that about ten percent of the sandies this year have some type of sore or abrasion or just holes on them? Could be a tough low water spawn? I talked to some goys that haze been fishing Lewisville and they noticed it too.
Curious.

That looks great Keith! You and I are falling into that work trap thing again... I'm thankful for a great job so not complaining. I bet those fish just love it when we have to work. Read in the booklet for how to lock the remote once you've "anchored." Roy got his booklet out a few weeks back and we found how to do it. Trust me you will thank me. It is nerve wracking to be locked on a great spot and you hit the remote by accident and unlock where you are locked! Hope to see you in a couple weeks....

Have noticed some fish like that recently... In the past I've been told it's from "hits" from Cormorants. Speaking of Cormorants check out the size of this bait ball this one is attacking:
