Is it a good idea to get wading boots a size larger
to allow room for socks and stocking foot waders?
Mine seem to have shrunk over the years. Tied down tight
is some painful walking. Thanks.I need to have someone help me spend more money, HAHA

In theory the manufactures allow room for socks and stockings, however, in practice I have found that it varies by manufacturer. Therefore, you will only know if they fit by trying them on first with your waders on. If you have a particular brand you want to buy, (and can only get online)call the manufacturer and see what they say.

Good luck

It does vary by manufacturer (and model), but I've had good luck buying boots two sizes larger than my shoe size. I often wade in cold water, so by the time I put on liner socks, heavy boot socks and the neoprene booties on my stocking foot waders, that fills them up. Too tight and you cut off circulation to your feet, making for very cold and uncomfortable wading.

Thanks guys. I think I'll move up a size if I stay with the same brand. Cabalas lite by the way. They've held up good but I need some relief. I hadn't thought about circulation, but noticed I'm usually the first one out of the stream with cold feet.
