Chaders and I decide to try Benbrook Saturday. Got a couple of pretty nice ones then moved into a creek (hint - RS). Wound up with an even dozen, most about 12" - 13", but had two right at 17". Got some females still full of eggs.

Added 21 sand bass to the count before we went in.

Everything was caught on minnows in 1-3 FOW. Tried several jigs and they wouldn't touch them.

Edit:I took some pictures but they didn't come out worth a hoot!

Way to go Richard.I am glad to hear that. Looks like the wind going to blow for about a week, so it may be a while before I get back out there.

We caught a few off the bank at benbrook today aswell as two nice green trash fish. Dad's was around 4 pounds and mine was 7 pounds. Really windy this morning im sure we would have caught more crappie if it wouldnt have been so windy.

The 4 and 7 were bass aka green trash fish. The largest crappie was about 13 inches and a little over a pound

nice fish sac, i believe there are some biguns in there...just two at 17" in one day seemed a bit far fetched...considering the lake record is 15.5 and 15.75 black/white

Hey General the record truly could have been broken many times in the last month by bank fishermen and women. Myself and many others never took the time to get fish weighed on certified scales or any thing like that what a shame. I will mention a few who without question have broken this record. Bud B, NAN,The Natural,Anton,Tony Frazer,Cajun CC,Mackman,JDSlabslayer, Ellis,Dragonfly Jones that' just off the top of my head.

Ain't no fish in that lake.
It don't matter how big they are.
Y'all are just going to eat my pets anyways

Hey pets taste great! They are usually fed a diet of not too many hormones and no high fructose corn syrup.

(Late Entry)...fished yesterday at the Marina, (3) bites but NO Crappie. Then again, I did fish right after 2:00 p.m. Is there some hotspot? Trying to believe in this lake but, so far, "no fish".
