Sorry, wasn't quite sure where to ask this question. What's the difference between a SX model & ZX model?

I'm no skeeter expert but sx is narrower beam, and some don't have ice chest built in. The sx was their base model I believe.

Ok, so it's like SL vs. SLE in a chevy truck? It's cosmetic. Same hull, width, engine, etc. It comes down to accessories and conveniences.

They have different hulls and top caps. Different boats. SX has a splashwell and isn't rated for a jackplate. ZX has no splashwell and has aluminum transom supports and is rated for a jackplate.

All the above info was found in a quick google search.

I had a sx200 and dad had a zx225 the same year models, 2006. They were totally different boats. Sx has a different hull and not for the better, the roughest boat i have owned by far. Zx has a jackplate like stated above as a sx does not. If you put a plate on the sx it will void hull warantee. Didnt have compartment lights, had drain out livewells unlike zx pumpouts. Had rocker switches where as the zx had push botton console. It was basically a cheap affordable no bells or whistles boat. It was actually a pretty fast boat though. It would eat up zx200's all day. I dont remember it being any narrower than the zx just different shape.carpet and seat were same quality and the sx200 had a great fishing platform. I had mine for 6 years and traded it in on a I-class. Hope this helps

The SX is the mid 90"s ZX hull that was produced for very few years. Instead of destroying the molds they renamed it SX. put in fewer live well pumps it has the mechanical switches that never fail due to moisture. Electronics and water don't mix. My ZX is 17 years old all switches are still functioning the same as the day I bought it new and it lives outside. Try that with electronic switches. As far as a rough riding hull you are splitting hairs comparing it to others the SX does not have the soft ride seats that the ZX does. Seems like that they put that awful foam transom in the SX they quit using on the ZX due to cracks and water absorbition. They learned that extra leverage from jack plates was causing the cracking. The SX is a good boat tournament ready without all the bling.

The SX doesn't have the aluminum front & rear deck with the adjustable supports. Like the others said, it's a " lower" featured boat in order to keep the price down.

I don't know about the newer hulls but the older sx's did come with jackplates.

My last sx was a 98 iirc, came factory rigged with jackplate.
