Well, I just cant stand it anymore I cant wait till next month to go to the coast so tomorrow im gonna head down to Galveston. my buddies workin down there for a couple weeks and we're gonna do some wadin and surf fishin. I have surf fishin down, but need some tips on where would be good to wade fish around there, not taking a boat for a 2 day trip so road accessible places will have to be the ticket. I do have a 4x4 and can go pretty much anywhere and i'll wade a mile if need be. Thanks guys!

G Love, I posted a pretty similar post a few weeks ago and got no response. Did you find any spots to walk in for wade fishing? Even general area, I dont mind working for it, I dont know the area that great.
Happy fishing!

Well I'm stuck in traffic on the way there but my buddies are doing ok. I have their waders though so they're just Hittin a shallow marsh on the east side I believe from the bank. When we're in waders and can go where ever I suspect we'll do decent. Everything has been caught on red/white ttf trout killers so far they said. They've caught a few keeper trout a rat red and a pretty nice flounder. Just this afternoon. They said the surf sucks right now cause of wind. We'll wade hard in the morning

wading at GISP on the bay side is good, just past the campsites at the kayak launch you can wade in and head back west for a long way, I have caught several nice reds back there. Most of it is pretty firm bottom, however, there are a lot of sting rays so remember to shuffle. Good luck

A couple of well known locations are off of 8 mile role, bayside. You can wade to the east of where 8 mile road runs into the bay. Or turn left off 8 mile road, near the end, onto Sportsmen Rd. Drive to end and wade. There is reef out to the west and north of the where you will enter, or fish the weed lines.

Well after I got there Saturday evening we hit a little marsh off of a bigger marsh on the stateside. We caught several keeper trout chasing mullet on TTF Red Killers and KFM, thirty minutes before sundown. Then caught mullet to chunk, bought live crabs and shrimp. Planned to hit that Texas city dike for night fishin. Was tOld there were some bulls being caught, I wasn't convinced but my buddy was so we went and didn't have any luck. Then this mornin we waded off sportsman rd (didn't get on the water till 830am long story not worth tellin) nothin but two bites. There were several other waders fishing as well, not doing any good. Several center consoles on the move frequently. So I assume they were havin the same luck, could be wrong though. Then proceeded to the state park (10ish am) which looked promising. TONS of bait everywhere. But nothing chasing them. My buddy hunter caught one rat red. But I believe we were too late maybe? We're kind of new to this type of fishing but workin our tales off. Water clarity wasn't great either (8-10in). I just got back home but hunter is doin some paintless dent repair work down there so he's gonna keep at it.
