sorry about the late reply.....we fished plastic worms texas rigged and carolina rig for black bass (nice teaching area if taking kids,too)....also,any size jig under a cork walking the bank areas....( bream and crappie with that) ....and best of all theres' a patch of lillypads that grow in one of them, and topwater weedless frogs did great in the heat of the day even, for bass . ( funny to watch when he hits it from under those lillypads, makes the kids laugh,too!)...

Youth Fishing Event (this is the pond behind the library)

Date: 5/25/2013 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Cost: Free

Location: Josey Ranch Park Pond
1440 Keller Springs Rd
Carrollton, Texas 75006

Carrollton's Parks and Recreation and the Texas Junior Anglers (TJA) program will host a free youth fishing event for children 16 and under. Registration will take place the morning of the event; there is no pre-registration. The Josey Ranch Park pond will be generously stocked with adult catfish. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to winners in the three age categories.

The pond will be opened to licensed adults at the conclusion of the event. It is reocmmended that children bring their own equipment; however, TJA will provide loner rods, reels, bait and tackle to those who need them.

Texas Junior Anglers is a non-profit outreach program designed to educate young Texans regarding aquatic stewardship and conservation of nature resources.
