If I were to run on plane outside of Sand branch to the south side of Wolf Island and idle into Wolf or Indian I should be ok right? Judging by the Hook 'n Line map I bought, there looks to be a sizeable flat to the west of Wolf Island. I just want to learn the lake a little more before a tournament I have at the end of the month. I'm not too concerned about running on plane into those areas because I will idle with the best of them. Is it best to stay to the east of Wolf island as I idle into Indian or should I stay to the west on the big flat?

Don't believe any map and slow down in the creeks.
I idled my way through Indian last weekend and whacked every stump in the the boat lanes.

You can run all the way to the poles at Wolf. Run to about the 6th pole from Wolf Island and you will be able to see the path into Wolf up the right side. Idle it though as there are some stumps in there. If you are coming from Sand the quickest way into Indian will be to the east of Wolf Island. Run to the visible timber and idle from there to be safe.

Basshole 9, I run to the East of Wolf Island and continue North of it about 1/2 mile turn due West then idle all the way into Wolf. I can run on plane up Indian, but I always stay to the right. I've seen people run on plane on the left hand side of Indian, but I won't do it.

Thanks for all of y'alls input. I just don't want to be limited to spots out there because of me being nervous to go anywhere but Sand Branch. Adam, you say to run to the poles at Wolf. I just looked at my map and noticed there are poles on the southeast side of Wolf and northwest side of Wolf. Which ones are you talking about? I was only able to fish the lake for 4 hours on Sunday due to other obligations so when I go this weekend, I will have a lot more time to get out and explore.
Thanks again guys

Thanks to everyone who has provided advise for the lake. I really appreciate it and I look forward to hopefully posting next week on the positive experience. I will enjoy even if I do not catch a thing but it would be nice to post about all of the great fishing. Have a great weekend and keep a tight line!

Really. Some guy gets on here 1st post and asks for the local patterns for ray bob and someone shoots him a pm. I just don't get this forum sometimes people its either one extreme or the other no info or only info for one person I guess i chose to send him a PM because it's my choice. What does it matter to you? I see you on here complaining a lot. Is that all you do? go fish or something

I found a group of T-Posts on a hump outside of the poles West of Wolf Island just north of the entrance to Walnut creek. They'll be just under the surface when the lake is at pool. Be careful of old fence rows. Learning old road beds can help with navigation.

Hope you did the same.

T-posts pulled up and sunk. Safer boating for all. That was one heck of an adventure in the 15mph South winds today.
