This was on the west end of Sandlin. There were some similar cages on docks that could be winched up and down for crappie cages I guess. Not sure this would have floated off if it came off a dock. I should have looked closer to see if it was tied to the stump. I'm sure others have seen it since its pretty obvious with the water so low. Anyone else see it or have a legit explaination?

Returned Heath.
I didn't look close but, it didn't look busted up to me. Looked like it was tied together. If it was used for illegal purposes it probably wasn't this year bc the lake has been low a while hasn't it?

That's why I don't fish Tournaments.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

I hate cheaters!! I fish tournaments but this makes me angry to think people will cheat to win. They have no self respect or pride in themselves.

It looked suspicious to me but, I think we should let the GW check it out. I like to think tournament fishermen are honest. It happens though so, I just wanted to put it out there. I'm suprised it wasn't talked about before I saw it because I'm not on Sandlin much and it was pretty visible in the pocket.

It amazes me how many people automatically assume cheating. Its pretty common practice for someone that lives on the lake to use fish cages around there dock to keep fish alive for a few days until they have enough to clean.
I'm not nave enough to think it never happens, but come on every basket in every lake wasn't used for cheating

it is sad but ever so true that greed and non ethics will overcome ethics and respect not only in tournament fishing but is so many other arenas in life as well. The one thing we can do is police our own, regardless if you fish a Tournament or not, if you see something like this report it. We have to be the eyes on the water and be a part of protecting our fishery's. Caging fish I am sure equals death for the fish.

Kent, I agree we don't need to accuse anyone of cheating without being sure but, this cage was in the middle of the pocket and didn't look like it floats. I was actually having a reaction to a tetanus shot from the day before and felt like carp. So, I didn't really feel like looking into it then and just snapped a pic and went on. Without a forum like this most would ever know about this stuff. Like previously stated we need to self police sometimes.

best thing a person could do, would be to report it to the game warden without ever telling another soul. We need to start catching people, if that's what it was there for. I would like to think it was just a floater that escaped from a dock.
