Was wondering if anyone has fished at Gibbons Creek recently, and if anything has been biting. Thanks and Gig em'

What are you fishing for? I know the bass and catfish are biting.

Mainly Bass, but if the catfish are biting I would fish for them as well

Bass are typically biting on Gibbons, its a great lake only 15 minutes from college station. Good luck man, you'll have a blast!

I fished Gibbons from about 4:30 until 8:00 on Friday (yesterday). The water level is great. I am not a super Gibbons regular, but this is highest water level I have seen in at least two years. I caught fish on my third and fourth cast in shallow water and I thought I was going to have a big day. Fish were 2.27 and 2.33 lbs and were really healthy looking fish. They were on a small flat where it looked like the wind (which thankfully wasn't much) was pushing bait fish on the flat and towards the bank (or at least that's the sort of thing I read on here smile ). Unfortunately for me they turned out to be my only two fish of the afternoon. I didn't even get another bite. I was in the "right arm" of the upper lake and there weren't many other boats...I'm thinking I should have been in the "left arm" of the upper lake (I'm a genius! smile ) because several folks at the ramp sounded like they had very productive afternoons. Water temps were 72 - 75 and overall the wind was fantastically light. Not a lot of fish, but a lot of fun. I have had a very busy spring at work and with family and this was only my second time out this spring, so it was great to snag even a couple of LMB.

Caught about 12 by 11:00 am this morning. Best 5 went just over 18lbs but the rest were small. Water temps are definitely up but the bite still really hasn't turned on yet. I had to cover a ton of water find these fish. All the fish I caught were real shallow.

Fished Friday afternoon... Spawn perhaps is in last stages...7 Bass, 1 buck on a bed and 6 more, not on beds, all between 3 and 5lbs.

Looks like BassColonel might also was on to some recent bedfish....have never seen the anal fin almost fully missing on a LMB.

Yes, water level is improved but still not full. Plant is back generating (a little) after brief shutdown. Tilapia survived plant shudown and are HUGE!

Nice fish colonel.

Some guys were shooting tilapia with bows Friday afternoon. Pretty impressive archery!
