I don't have a heavy rod for jigs or other heavy lures. I got this rod as a gift in 1989 and used it two or three times for just a few minutes. I didn't have a boat for twenty years so no real use for it. I stuck it in a closet and forgot about it. would like to start using a jig and throw heavier lures in general. I thought about slapping a real on this rod and using it for jigs and heavy lures. It's graphite and an extendable rod at that. Am I going to feel anything with this rod? Should I start using it or stick it back in the closet?

I have one I use for Arigs till I get a better one. It isn't as good as a good modern jig rod but not that bad. I'd use it and see how you like it, then upgrade when you run across a deal somewhere, like a rod riot.

I'm not old. My bobbers just float a little lower than they used to.
