I ordered a 10 foot St Croix, pricey suckers. Grease bath loves the St. Croix rods so much he carries them in the front seat...I tried some on a trip to Canada, when a manufacturers rep showed up with a box full...they are nice rods, but as usual, I busted one of the suckers fighting a potential lake record pike in the wild rice beds...he spun the 16 ft lund around in circles a few times..until the rice stalks got so heavy on the line, that when I tried to turn him toward the boat the rod snapped..then the line snapped shortly thereafter...so I had to go get my Ugly's from my cabin...and try him on for size again...he never bit my line again...sigh...the very next week a guy boated that fish in the same place, and it was indeed the lake record...they called me and told me about it....heavy sigh.
