I'm ready to take the time to learn the FB jig bite. So I'm just looking for some hints on colors of jigs/ trailers to start with on mainly Fork and Sam Rayburn.

Thanks

Peanut butter and jelly, green pumpkin, and black and blue are hard to beat.

Yes, I use at least a 1/2 ounce. In the summer I'll throw a 3/4 to 1 ounce in deap water. I throw a jig from 2 ft to 30 ft of water.

for me, FB jigs are by far most confidence bait. all year long. all depths. I use many other baits but theres not one Id pick over a FB jig if I had to pick one. great bait for numbers & size. give them an honest try and I promise youll feel the same. I have 3 different sizes tied on almost all the time. drag em, hop em, slow crawl em, whatever!
only time I dont use them much is grass and real soft bottoms.

Keep the colors simple. Throw the same basic colors as you would with c or t-rigged plastics.

Everyone has their favorites. Grab a couple of 1/2 ounce Triple Rattlebacks. They don't seem to hang in the grass as much as the few Football type head jigs I have tried. (just saying).

Those 3 colors in 1/2 and 3/4oz is all you will need. Use a trailer to accent the colors a little.
