If that tourney would have been last Monday 4/1 it would have been a massacre.
A lot of fish spawned then.. It's been a long time since I saw so many pounds of fish spawning as I did that day.
Also, that much noise in wind concentrated areas probably does turn fish off, especially the bigger over slot types.

about 1800 Anglers

Equals 12,600 fishing hours

And ONLY 2 overs caught.

There were great Anglers with millions of dollars worth of equipment fishing 12,600 hours with only 2 overs.

Lets get real...what is going on with Lake Fork

1800 Angler = Tremendous fishing pressure..

A 24" bass is huge. I bet there were a lot of 7-8 lb fish caught maybe even 9 lb fish caught that didn't measure the 24" and couldn't be weigh in.

I think that tournament situation would produce the worst odds. Tell me what the hours are per over that are caught in Cody Malone or Mark Pack's boat (any guide)? They know Fork and the fish better than everyone in those tournaments and many of their overs are caught during the week.

I think it's interesting that by your math it took over 12k man hours to produce two overs. One of the strange factoids I've always recalled is a study by TP&W that said it takes, on average, over 10k man hours on Fork to catch a double digit fish.

I think it was ol' Ben Franklin who said nothing is either good or bad until its compared to something. So with that in mind I'd say things are right on track.

Sums it up pretty well...This is what keeps us all coming back thumb

Well said.

I have many fantastic days on Fork and of course been skunked many days. I have learned to get away from the banks and fishing gets much better.

So I've never fished fork or a tournament so I don't know. You can't weigh a 22' fish that weighs 8lb? So is it better to catch small fish in a fork tournament?
