the obvious answer is down at the dam. I hope there is a cop out there directing traffic though, that place had 15 plus boats on it today, early this morning. shad are up on bulkheads, that means the hybrids are not far away...

also anywhere along the old river channel. Many times the hydrids will move up to mid lake areas in the spring...they still have genetics telling them to go upriver to spawn.

Well I found out one thing you don't want to go inside the Bowie markers Around the dam one of the workers called the constables on us We got a warning He said the ticket could be up till $500 fine if fishing in there The guy working their told us to leave so we left we Haven't even started fishing there yet So the guy took my numbers down and call the constable anyway I use the troll motor to leave the area because it's a no wake zone he told Constable we took our sweet *** time getting out of there And I think that's why he was so ****** off First time I Had my boat out this year didn't even know that work was going on Another fun day In Lake Conroe

Avoid the construction at the east and west ends of the dam and obviously don't fish in front of the floodgates. That construction is here to stay for a long time.
