No matter where you mount it get a float for it. Put mine on the console.

Depends on what you want it to do. Hero 3 Black is top of line with all features and wifi remote. If you just need a good basic camera then the Silver will work just fine.

stupid stupid stupid all the people that mount it anywhere except your head. your head is looking right where you are, of course. it gets the pre-bite, the bite, and the catch. your head is looking down into the water and catches everything. sick of seeing videos of nothing but air and boat with the bass flipped onto deck and nothing else.

Rob, what kind of mount are you using? just a headband mount that comes with Contour HD, GoPro is a great camera, but doesn't fit along your head like a Contour HD.

The floaty back will not float the suction cup mount. Consider yourself warned. The suction cup will come loose, and it will fall. If you must use the suction cup I suggest tying a safety line to the camera. I personally wear mine on my head or mount to the rear seat post. I prefer my head as well, but sometimes it's cool to watch yourself set the hook.

How do you attach yours to the seat post? Jake B, I am the GoPro rep for the area. You can use the roll bar mount to attatch to the seat. If you use the suction cup to mount on the motor, I would definitely tether it for insurance. If I can help you or anyone else, please do not hesitate to message me.

I second the safety line for the suction cup mount. I've had it fail too many times. I prefer the seat post mounts if using while running on plane.
